My Diabetes My Way: October 2022 Update

Welcome to the My Diabetes My Way Newsletter for October 2022.

35,000 Active Users
This month My Diabetes My Way reached the milestone of 35,000 users logging in to access their diabetes records. Many thanks to those of you who have contributed to this significant figure. As we explained earlier this year, research has shown that My Diabetes My Way could save health services millions of pounds every year while improving the quality of life of those who use it. The full research paper is available via the University of Dundee Press Release here:

World Diabetes Day 2022
My Diabetes My Way will celebrate World Diabetes Day on Monday 14th November. World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on 14th November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who began experiments using insulin along with Charles Best in 1921. Every year, the International Diabetes Federation campaign focuses on a dedicated theme that runs for one or more years. The theme from 2021 to 2023 is "Access to Diabetes Care – If Not Now, When?".

“Education to protect tomorrow” is the focus of the second year of the campaign. Activities will focus on highlighting the need for better access to quality diabetes education for health professionals and people living with diabetes, something that My Diabetes My Way has been supporting for nearly 15 years!

You can read more about the campaign here:

Administrative Delays
We would like to acknowledge that My Diabetes My Way has experienced some significant administrative delays since the middle of September. This has affected how quickly we can send out registration forms for signing and how quickly we have been able to process those forms once you send them back. It has also affected how quickly we have been able to respond to your emails. We are pleased to say that we are now nearly back up-to-date with the processing of forms and continue to work through the backlog of emails. We would like to apologise if this has caused you any inconvenience.
